HiAOOS at Arctic Frontiers 2025

Arctic Frontiers has just wrapped up for another year, with the theme of the 2025 edition of the conference, “Beyond Borders.” This year saw seven themed science sessions, representing the latest developments in Arctic research, and spanning the physical and social sciences, as well as technological developments and innovative methods.

The HiAOOS theme was strongly represented at the conference by its coordinator, Dr. Hanne Sagen (NERSC), as well as partners Dr. Agnieszka Beszczynska-Möller (IOPAN) and Prof.Philippe Blondel and PhD candidate Jonathan Cleverly (UBAH).

Hanne Sagen contributed to the session “International Polar Year (IPY) V: Research, Data and Science Cooperation Part 1” with a presentation that featured HiAOOS. Agnieszka Beszczynska-Möller presented a poster entitled “Polish Polar Consortium as a framework for Arctic research collaboration and development of the Polish contribution to IPY 2032-20331,” while Jonathan Cleverly and Philippe Blondel presented a poster entitled, “Automated Processing of Arctic Underwater Soundscapes2,” based on their work in HiAOOS. Here you can find more information about the poster and its supporting materials, including mpegs of ocean sounds.
