HIAOOS will develop and demonstrate new technologies that will facilitate operations in the harsh high Arctic environment. Our aim is to reduce environmental impacts in the future through the need for fewer icebreaker operations.
HiAOOS will build on technologies used in subsea installations, including smart instrument containers, ROVs with docking capabilities for data download and battery charging. HIAOOS consortium includes four commercial companies from subsea and maritime industry. The collaboration between industry and research is expected to create more research-based innovation in industry and lead to excellence in Arctic science and technology.
