HiAOOS at EGU 2025

HiAOOS was out in force at the European Geosciences Union General Assembly 2025 this week, taking part in two sessions. The EGU GA takes place in Vienna, Austria and Online from 27 April–2 May 2025. It brings together geoscientists from all over the world to one meeting covering all disciplines of the Earth, planetary, and space sciences. The EGU aims to provide a forum where scientists, especially early career researchers, can present their work and discuss their ideas with experts in all fields of geoscience.
HiAOOS coordinator Hanne Sagen contributed to session ITS3.11/ERE6.3: Advancing Environmental Science through Integrated Research Infrastructures, with an oral presentation entitled, “An overview of the High Arctic Ocean Observation System (HiAOOS).”
A selection of the HiAOOS team also joined forces with a contribution to session ESSI4.7: Geoscientific Mapping, Modelling, Analysis and Visualization: From Complex Data to Accessible Solutions, with an oral presentation by Torill Hamre entitled, “Blue Insight – Using digital platforms for Arctic Ocean Science and sustainable fisheries.”
