39th General Assembly of the European Seismological Commission

The 39th General Assembly (GA) of the European Seismological Commission (ESC) is due to take place in Corfu, Greece, from 22-27 September, 2024..

In 2024 about 700 early-career and senior researchers from more than 60 countries from Europe and all over the world will meet in Corfu to discuss different modern fields of seismology and related applications. Organisers are anticipating about 1,000 abstracts covering the broad fields of seismic networks, seismic hazard and risk, physics of earthquakes, study of the Earth’s interior, array seismology, engineering seismology, induced seismicity, seismic anisotropy, earthquake forecasting, statistical seismology, historical seismology and microseismology, recent significant earthquakes, earthquake secondary effects, as well as education, outreach and societal implications, making the 2024 ESC General Assembly one of the largest meetings ever.

HiAOOS intends to be part of the event, providing an intervention on measuring seismic activity in the high Arctic. Watch this space for updates.
