Research Expedition in the High Arctic with FF Kronprins Haakon
Our team recently wrapped up an exciting research expedition in the Arctic aboard the FF Kronprins Haakon, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and pristine nature. The expedition was a collaborative effort within the High Arctic Ocean Observatory System (HiAOOS) project, with partners including the Norwegian Polar Institute and Stinger Technoloy AS, whose expertise is key to the operation and development of the observatory infrastructure.
During these days at sea, the main mission was to recharge batteries, download data, and synchronize the Ocean Observatory System, deployed at depths ranging from approximately 600 to 1200 meters. This crucial maintenance ensures the system can continue monitoring the Arctic Ocean without needing to be brought to the surface.
Stay tuned for more updates and insights from the HiAOOS project, including the latest data and discoveries from this unique environment.
