The Changing Arctic: HiAOOS partners host Brussels event
HiAOOS partners, the University of Bergen (UiB) and the Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Center (NERSC), will host a Brussels event, The Changing Arctic: Closing Knowledge Gaps for Europe’s Future, on 2 June 2026. The event will bring together researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss how rapid changes in the Arctic are affecting Europe and why stronger Arctic observation and collaboration are needed.
The seminar will focus on the scientific and policy challenges linked to Arctic warming, sea ice loss, and the need for better environmental data from the High North. As two of the project’s consortium partners, UiB and NERSC are helping connect HiAOOS research with the wider European policy debate on climate resilience and Arctic preparedness.
The event will take place at the University of Bergen Brussels Office and will include keynote talks, thematic sessions, and networking opportunities.
